Volunteers / Parade Marshals

In the early dawn hours of parade day, over fifty volunteers gather for a quick breakfast before they begin directing parade participants to staging and parking areas, assuring that everyone is where they need to be when they need to be there!

Some parade marshals are steeped in their traditional posts for the Labor Day events, while others are new to the scene. The volunteer efforts of all the marshals are appreciated by parade participants as well as the viewing audience. Over the years, the group of parade marshals has become a close knit band of volunteers working together for the whole weekend. Many can be seen at the Lincoln Park activities held on both Sunday and Monday.

PARTICIPANT WAIVER AND RELEASE

PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY. IT IS A LEGALLY BINDING AGREEMENT AND AFFECTS ANY RIGHTS YOU MIGHT HAVE IF YOU ARE INJURED IN ANY WAY DURING THE COURSE OF YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE ACTIVITY, AS DESCRIBED BELOW.

I, or any member of my family (the "Volunteer") understand that participation as a Volunteer / Parade Marshal (the "Activity") which is sponsored, in part, by the Kettering Holiday at Home Foundation is completely voluntary on the Volunteer's part. The Volunteer chooses to participate in this Activity for the Volunteer's personal benefit. The Volunteer recognizes that there may be dangers associated with the Activity and the Volunteer voluntarily and willingly assumes full responsibility for all risks and dangers associated with participation in such Activity.

The Volunteer understands and agrees that the Kettering Holiday at Home Foundation is not responsible for any accident or injury that arises from or occurs because of participation in this Activity. In consideration for the benefits of the Volunteer participation, the Volunter releases, waives, discharges and covenants not to sue, the Kettering Holiday at Home Foundation, its directors, officers, employees, sponsors, volunteers, agents and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, demands and causes of action whatsoever, including attorney fees, arising out of or in any way related to participation in this Activity or any injury or damage resulting from such participation.

In addition, the Volunteer grants permission to Kettering Holiday at Home Foundation to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.
